Content Description: 

Basket. A large, cylindrical, white oak split basket made to hold cotton. The splits in the bottom are narrower than those on the side. The top rim consists of three thicker splits bound with thinner splits in a diagonal pattern. Two 3 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch spaces have been cut out opposite to each other just below the rim for hand grips for carrying the basket in the cotton field.
