Wool Coatee

circa 1820

Content Description:

Red and buff wool broadcloth coatee with wings, a standing collar, and a single shoulder tab. The coat is unpadded, and lined with glazed red wool except for the tails which are lined in natural linen and have pockets in them. Flat gilt braid embellishment on collar, wings, tails, cuffs, and front panel. Fifty two-part brass ball buttons with soldered wire loops complete the trim.
