Content Description: 

Medal. Air Medal. Engraved 2nd Lt. Thomas W. McKee. Complete with case, ribbon bar, lapel pin. A: USAAF air medal consisting of a brass pin with a blue silk grosgrain ribbon with two vertical yellow- orange stripes which hold a bronze medal on a split string. Metal motif is a sunburst with a swooping eagle with a lightning bolt in each talon. B: A ribbon with the same colors as the medal. C: Lapel pin in bright brass with same colors in enamel. D: Presentation case in dark blue leather lined with cream colored satin & velvet. (Newspaper clipping from Jacksonville Journal, Jacksonville, FL with a picture of Lt. McKee's mother, Mrs. Arlene E. McKee, being presented with the posthumous award of the medal by Col. J. C. Mullinix, US Army, on or about Dec. 18, 1945. Note: Clipping was not accessioned)-
