Milwaukee County Historical Society

Founded in 1935, the Milwaukee County Historical Society houses over 50,000 artifacts that detail almost 200 years of Milwaukee County history. From its early quarrel between the western (Kilbourntown) and eastern (Juneautown) cities, through its attracting of German and Polish immigrants, Milwaukee County has seen incredible transformations.

The historical society houses both the Milwaukee County Historical Center, the Harry H. Anderson Research Library, and other historic homes around the city. Its research tools include both manuscript and photograph collections along with a genealogical database. Its collections include historical paintings, Billie the Brownie dolls, and Milwaukee brewery artifacts.
