Byron Dobell

Byron Dobell was the Editor of American Heritage for eight years, during which time the magazine won or was a finalist for a National Magazine Award ten times.

Before joining American Heritage, Dobell served as editor-in-chief of the Washington Post Book World, executive editor of New York Magazine, and editor of Esquire.

Dobell was elected to the American Society of Magazine Editors’s Magazine Editors' Hall of Fame in 1998.
