Good example of a civilian type handgun. Workings inside are broken. Single shot Allen & Thurber D.A bar hammer pistol. 6 1/2" L. Screw-off type barrel, front is 1 5/8" L, is smooth sided, back is 1 1/4"L, composed of eight flat sides, ea. 1/4"W. Steel frame with stylized floral engravings on both sides. 1/4" diam. screw in left side of frame. Bar hammer inserted into top of frame, rectangular with curved back, circular shaped front, 1 5/8"L x 1/4"H. Trigger guard mounted directly to underside of frame. Backstrap and front strap continue from frame, also serve as butt plate. Polished grips with 1/4" diam. screw in right grip, tip of screw visible in left grip. "Allen & Wheelock/J.W. Jackson/Cario, IL/1848/594" engraved on flat sides of barrel. "594" on trigger guard. 3/2/10 inventory: #10
