Edwin G. Burrows

Edwin G. Burrows , winner of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Gotham: A History of New York City to 1898 (Oxford USA 1998) with Mike Wallace, is a distinguished professor of history at Brooklyn College.

He is the author of 2008's Forgotten Patriots: The Untold Story of American Prisoners During the Revolutionary War, which won the 2009 Fraunces Tavern Museum Book Award. Burrows received his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1964 and his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1973. He has been teaching at Brooklyn College since 1973.
