Neill Macaulay (1935-2007) was a writer, professor and a former lieutenant in Fidel Castro's 26th of July Movement Army. After leaving Cuba, Macaulay taught Latin American history at the University of Florida for twenty years before retiring as professor emeritus in 1986. His memoir A Rebel in Cuba has been reprinted by Affiliated Writers of America, Box 343, Encampment, WY 82325. Macaulay's experiences in Cuba helped inspire two documentaries Cuba: A Lifetime of Passion (2007) and Patria o Muerte (currently in production).
