Following a dispute at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, 7th U.S. Cavalry soldiers open fire on Sioux men, women and children along Wounded Knee Creek, killing between 150 and 300. The Wounded Knee Massacre was one of the final events of the 19th century Indian Wars.
