Stacy Schiff

Stacy Schiff is an American historian and a Pulitzer Prize-winning author. She is known for her critically acclaimed biographies of major historical figures, including Véra (Mrs. Vladimir Nabokov), Cleopatra: A LifeThe Witches: Salem, 1692, and The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams. Schiff has received several awards for her works, including the Pulitzer Prize for Véra and the National Book Award for Cleopatra.

Before becoming an author, Schiff worked as an editor and freelance writer. Her writing has appeared in various publications, including The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. Schiff has also been a guest on numerous radio and television shows, including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and NPR's Fresh Air.

Schiff was born in Adams, Massachusetts in 1961 and graduated from Williams College. She later earned a Master of Arts degree in modern literature from the University of Edinburgh and worked as a senior editor at Simon & Schuster. Schiff currently resides in New York City.
