Gregg Herken

Gregg Herken is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of California in Santa Cruz, specializing in Cold War history. He is the author of five books on American diplomacy and nuclear history, including Brotherhood of the Bomb: The Tangled Lives and Loyalties of Robert Oppenheimer, Ernest Lawrence, and Edward Teller, and The Georgetown Set: Friends and Rivals in Cold War Washington. 

Herken has also worked as a museum curator, having served as chairman of the Department of Space History at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
