Benjamin Lathrop Brown

Benjamin Brown is Professor Emeritus and former Chair of the Physics Department at Marquette University. He has written a number of essays on the telephone including for Proceedings of the IEEE.

Prof. Brown earned a B.S. at Principia College and a PhD in Physics at Marquette University. He also did post-graduate work at Harvard University.

In the 1980s he was a member of the technical staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, New Jersey, working on first-generation gravitational-wave detectors and on laboratory astrophysics experiments with positrons. More recently he has collaborated on low-energy particle-physics research with positrons and positronium at ETH Zurich.
