Lionel Casson

Lionel Casson was a classical archaeologist, professor emeritus at New York University, and a specialist in maritime history.

Casson was the author of over a dozen books, many of which were written for American Heritage Publishing, including Everyday Life in Ancient Egypt, Everyday Life in Ancient Rome, and Mysteries of the Past.
