Munroe Tavern

Munroe Tavern

Munroe Tavern served as the British headquarters and field hospital. Here, Gen. Percy with his reinforcements from Boston met the beleaguered Royal troops returning from Lexington, set up a defensive line to the east and west of the tavern, and tended to the wounded, before setting out on the long and dangerous journey back to Boston.
