A Taller Tower

Contrary to the “Then and Now” story on Minneapolis’s Foshay Building in the July/August issue, the (L. C.) Smith Tower in Seattle was the first skyscraper west of Chicago, and it remained the tallest until after the end of the Second World War. It is 520 feet high and was opened on July 4, 1914.
