Originally a cotton warehouse built in 1845, the Marietta Museum of History was established in 1996. Collections include exhibits on Civil War, local history, home life, and the military. The most unique exhibit at the museum is the Civil War collection which features the history of the Georgia Military Institute. The museum also offers an outreach program, a lecture series, and a county festival.
